WARRANT

On May 13 an Attempt to Locate was broadcast over Channel 1. Officers were advised that North Kingstown Police were looking for a red Chevy pickup truck, the occupant of which was last seen taking pallets and was possibly headed to the area of Motel 6 at 20 Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick. At that time, Officer Christopher Lo was in the area of 10 Jefferson Blvd. He said he observed a red pickup truck operating southbound on Jefferson Blvd. He watched it pull into a parking lot in “what I believe was an attempt to avoid being detected.” Lo said a short time later, he saw the vehicle exit.

Lo initiated a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of 78 Jefferson Blvd. The operator identified himself as Eric J. Foster, 23, of 67 School Street, East Providence. Upon running routine checks, Lo said it was learned that Foster had an affidavit warrant out of the North Providence Police Department for domestic assault, domestic vandalism, and domestic disorderly conduct. Channel 2 was able to confirm through North Providence Police that the warrant was active. Officer Charles Austin arrived on scene, at which time Foster was removed from his vehicle and placed in handcuffs without incident. A search for weapons yielded negative results.

Foster was transported to Warwick Police headquarters for processing. The warrant was removed from RILETS. Lo said Foster would be held until North Providence Police respond and take custody of him. CHILD PORN INVESTIGATION

A Warwick man is in federal custody as part of a national child pornography investigation.

Jordan Monroe, 50, appeared in U.S. District Court on Friday. He is charged with receiving and distributing child pornography, and possessing and accessing child pornography with intent to view.

According to a statement from the office of U.S. Attorney Peter F. Neronha, Homeland Security Investigations agents “discovered tens of thousands of computer file folders containing images and videos of alleged child pornography on numerous computers” taken from Monroe’s home.

The arrest came as part of a national investigation launched in September 2015. The IP address linked to Monroe’s residence is alleged to have been one of many inside and outside the U.S. to access Internet boards used for sharing and viewing child pornography. SHOPLIFTING

On May 6 at 1:35 p.m., Officer David Thompson was dispatched to Sears, 650 Bald Hill Road, for a female shoplifter in custody.

Upon arrival, Thompson met with a loss prevention agent, who said he observed a female, later identified as Marie Deluca, 45, of 34A Torch Lane, Coventry, enter Sears and begin shopping in the fine jewelry department. He observed her select three sterling silver jewelry boxes (valued at approximately $99.99 each) and two tops and then head into a fitting room. Upon exiting the fitting room, she appeared to only have the tops in her possession and the jewelry boxes were missing. The woman was then observed putting the empty jewelry boxes in a duffle bag on display before proceeding to the fragrance department, where she selected one perfume and returned to the women’s department and placed the top she was carrying on the rack. At that point, she proceeded to a cash register and paid for the perfume. The woman then exited the store, making no attempt to pay for the concealed merchandise. Once outside, she was approached by loss prevention and escorted back in the store, where the stolen merchandise was recovered from Deluca’s back pocket. Recovered were two sterling silver rings and one sterling necklace with a heart charm, for a total value of $299.97.

Thompson took Deluca into custody and transported her to Warwick police headquarters, where she was processed and charged with shoplifting. After determining she did not have a criminal record, Deluca was summonsed to appear in Third Division District Court to answer for the shoplifting charge. SIMPLE ASSAULT

On May 8 at 6:13 p.m., Officer Quentin Tavares, along with several other officers, was dispatched to Chuck E. Cheese at 650 Bald Hill Road for the report of a fight in progress.

Upon arrival, Officers Larson and Vargas were already on scene and all parties had been separated. The officers were speaking with the two females who had been fighting with each other.

Tavares responded inside to see if there was any video surveillance or unbiased witnesses to the fight to see if he could possible determine who had started the fight. Tavares spoke with the manager, who said around 6 p.m. he was notified that an argument was taking place in the restroom. He said he was the manager on duty at the time and he attempted to defuse the situation and call the authorities. When he did so, he said one of the female assailants confronted him and said, “If you call the cops, I’m going to [expletive] you up.” He ignored the woman and called police. The woman then struck him with a closed fist to the face.

The manager said the entire altercation started within the restrooms and went to the outside of the store, where two of the females were physically fighting. He said the female that struck him was African-American. She had a short haircut, “almost like a flat top.” He told Tavares the females were fighting over the woman that assaulted him, who was identified as Ebony Carson Hamilton, 22, of 137 Eldridge Street, Providence.

After obtaining the manager’s statement, Tavares spoke with two witnesses. One man said he heard an argument occurring in the hallway near the bathroom while he was at Chuck E. Cheese with his kids. He said he saw the manager trying to break up the fight and calm everyone down. One of the ladies dressed in black with a short haircut punched the manager in the face, he said. She also threw a chair. The parties then left Chuck E. Cheese.

The second witness, a Chuck E. Cheese employee, told Tavares an argument ensued near the bathrooms and his manager attempted to diffuse the situation. After a few minutes, he said he was going to call the police and he saw one of the women, who was dressed in a black shirt and had short hair, punch his manager in the face.

After learning this, Tavares went outside and asked Hamilton is she had assaulted the manager, which she denied. Tavares said there were several other statements and physical evidence on the manager’s face contradicting her denial. Tavares also spoke with Officer Vargas, who advised him there was a physical altercation between two females that had been fighting each other because they both previously dated Hamilton.

Sergeant Choquette was called to the scene, and it was determined Hamilton would be taken into custody. She was placed in handcuffs, secured in a patrol unit, and transported to Warwick Police headquarters, where she was charged with one count of simple assault.

Tavares said it was not possible to determine which of the two other women that had been fighting in the bathroom and outside was the primary aggressor. There were no unbiased witnesses.

Fighting at Chuck E. Cheese- fine examples to their progeny. Just like a nitwit to deny threatening and assaulting someone with witnesses and video to show that they're liars- if you don't have the spine to own up to your actions, behave yourself.

Just stay out of Warwick if you can't behave at least as well as an 8-year-old (no offense intended to 8-year-olds)- we already have enough adults who can't conduct themselves appropriately without adult supervision.
