LARCENY
A Byron Boulevard resident told police that someone stole an 11-gallon gas tank from his boat while it was parked in his driveway on Sept. 9. He said the tank was under the aft seat and nothing else was taken. No suspects.
A West Warwick woman told police she left her $210 iPhone on a chair in the waiting room of Kent Hospital on Sept. 7 and saw that it was gone after she returned from chasing her child who had run away down the hall. She said she searched for the phone and reported it missing to the staff and that there was only one other person in the waiting room at the time, but she only knew the first name of the person as Kelly. No witnesses.
An Atlantic Avenue man told police someone went through two cars that were left in his driveway overnight on Sept. 7. Officer Jason Cooke reported that three neighbors approached him as he was taking that report that said all their cars had been gone through as well. Nothing was reported missing and one neighbor said he saw three juveniles running down the street the night before.
A $100 iPod, a GPS unit worth $100 and $5 in change were reported missing from a car parked on North Fair Street on Sept. 7. The owner said the iPod had her name written on it. No witnesses.
Another iPod worth $200 and $15 in change were taken from a car on Pawtuxet Avenue on Sept. 6. The owner said she noticed the theft after she found the contents of her purse strewn about. No witnesses.
Officer Julio Benros reported that $300 worth of scrap metal and $1,500 wheels and tires were removed from a customer’s car at Affordable Auto Body on Evergreen Avenue on Sept. 10. No suspects or witnesses.
A Warwick couple told police they went for a run on the bike path around noon on Sept. 11 and returned to find that the driver’s side window was smashed and a $300 iPhone was gone. No witnesses.

STOLEN COPPER
Officer Timothy Kenyon reported the theft of $6,200 worth of copper pipe and tubing from the former 7-Eleven at 3944 Post Rd. on Sept. 10. He said the owner of the building, which is being renovated, told him that 20 feet of half-inch pipe and 20 feet of three-quarter-inch pipe was taken along with the tubing from two large air-conditioning units. There were no witnesses, but the owner pointed out that a white trash bag containing 10 empty ginger ale bottles were found behind the building that had not been there when the place was locked up the day before. Kenyon said he seized the bag and told the owner detectives would be responding to process the scene for evidence. No suspects or witnesses.

WARRANTED
Officer Gary Driscoll reported he was on patrol around 10:15 a.m. on Sept. 11 when he spotted an expired inspection sticker on a passing vehicle. He said he ran the plate on the vehicle and the registration came back as expired as well and got additional information about the owner of the car and learned there was an active warrant out for her for failure to appear in District Court in connection with a driving on a suspended license charge. He said he pulled the car over and advised the woman of why he stopped her and arrested her and left her in the back seat of his cruiser while he spoke with her passenger, who was identified as the driver’s adult son, who also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. He was arrested and transported to headquarters by another officer. Ro-Lyn Parsons, 38, of 972 Reservoir Ave., and her son, Keith F. Robbins III, 21, of the same address, were processed and then taken to District Court for arraignment. Parsons was also given a ticket for driving an unregistered car with an expired inspection sticker.

BB DAMAGE
Officer Julio Benros went to the Walk-in Medical Center at 1131 Warwick Ave. around 8 a.m. on Sept. 10 to take a report of a broken window. He said there was a shattered plate glass window at the entrance that was consistent with being hit by a BB or pellet gun. An employee of the center told Benros she believed it happened sometime between 6:30 p.m. the night before and 6:30 a.m. that morning. The damage was estimated at $1,200. No suspects or witnesses.

PLANT DAMAGE
A Johnson Avenue man called police on Sept. 8 to report that someone had violated his hydrangea sometime overnight. The man showed Officer Benros how flowers on the bush had been pulled, cut and torn and discarded in the street. Benros reported, “I noted evidence corroborating” the man’s complaint. There was no suspect or witnesses.

SPECIAL DELIVERY
A resident of Morning Glory Drive told Officer Robert Canis-Langlais she had no idea who vandalized a shirt she ordered through the mail for her son. She said she found the shirt partially burned and wet and said it smelled as if someone had urinated on it. She said the package it came in was missing. She said she had no enemies and couldn’t think of any reason for the incident. Canis-Langlais said he got a call from the woman a short time after he took the report and she told him neighbors saw two juveniles near her mailbox the day before.

DUI AND REFUSAL
Officer John Zaborski reported he was on patrol around 11 p.m. on Aug. 30 when he was dispatched to the Burger King on West Shore Road for a DUI in progress. He said two other officers were out with the suspected drunk driver when he arrived and he spoke with the manager of the Burger King, who told him the woman they were detaining came to the drive-through window where her car stopped at an odd angle and seemed out of it when she asked her for the money for her food and appeared to be falling asleep. She told Zaborski she told the woman to pull over to the side of the drive-through lane to wait for her food and the woman drove over the curb of the TD Bank next door. She said she then brushed against the light pole as she tried to drive away, but a police car blocked her way. Zaborski said she was standing by her car and she appeared to be under the influence and she smelled of alcohol. He said she began to give him “attitude” and said she was grieving her fiancé’s passing and she just wanted to go home. He said she was difficult to understand but agreed to try the field sobriety test. He said he called off the rest of the test when she fell backwards and was caught by another officer before she hit the ground. He said Stephanie Darosa, 23, of 70 John St., was taken to headquarters, where she blew a .275 and a .291 blood alcohol content (BAC) even as she attempted to block the nozzle with her tongue. She was charged with DUI and later released with a summons to a sober adult.
Officer John Curley reported that he was dispatched to Route 95 North to intercept a possible drunk driver around 12:25 p.m. on Sept. 1. He said he caught up with the suspect and pulled the car over after he saw it weaving from lane to lane. He said the driver smelled of alcohol and said he was coming from Providence and not heading toward the city. He said he was also unsteady on his feet and failed the field sobriety test. Scott Ramos, 27, of 35 Argol St., Providence, was taken to headquarters, where he refused to take a breath test. He was charged with laned roadway violation, DUI and refusal and later released to a sober adult.
