AC UNIT TAKEN

Officer Brian Murray took a report of a stolen roof unit from the loading dock of the Delta T Company on Dewey Avenue on Dec. 4. The manager told Murray he noticed the unit was missing around noon. He said he last saw the unit on Nov. 25 around 3 p.m. He said it cost $2,495.08 and there were no witnesses or suspects.

WHEELS GONE

A Cape Cod man came into headquarters on Dec. 3 to report that he left his Jeep Cherokee in the parking lot of the Courtyard by Marriott at 55 Jefferson Blvd. on Nov. 27 and got a call from the hotel on Nov. 29 telling him the wheels and tires were taken. He said the cost of replacing the tires and rims was $3,700. There were no suspects or witnesses and the report was forwarded to detectives.

NOT HER “PAL”

Officer Tomas Bogusz took a report of credit card fraud from a resident of the Cranberry Pond Apartments on Nov. 30. The woman said she received a statement from PayPal saying she made six purchases of Jet Blue airline tickets on Nov. 26. The woman said she didn’t have a PayPal account, had never opened one and never bought any airline tickets. Bogusz advised her to get in touch with PayPal and alert them to the situation of someone using her information to open an account.

MISSING TOOLS

A resident of an apartment building at 303 Greenwich Ave. told police he went to his storage unit on Nov. 16 and found that it had been tampered with and a number of his tools were missing. He said two impact socket sets, one set of Snap-On wrenches, Craftsman wrenches and an electric drill were missing. He said the tools cost $580. No suspects or witnesses.

LOST FISH FINDER

A resident of Rustic Way in Warwick told police a fish finder that was left on a boat in his yard went missing on Nov. 30. The man said he last saw the Eagle Fish Finder with a six-inch display on Nov. 16. He said the boat was covered but it was not secured and the $300 fish finder was not attached to the boat yet and had been sitting on the dash. No suspects or witnesses.

STOLEN GIFTS

A Cranston man told police he had been shopping at TJ Maxx around 7:25 p.m. on Nov. 18 when someone stole some gifts he already purchased and left in his pickup truck. Police noticed the rear window was smashed and the man said some bedding and two pairs of sneakers he bought at Kohl’s earlier were gone. He said the goods were worth $299.38. No suspects or surveillance available.

A Massachusetts Avenue man told police a 55-inch Samsung television he left in the trunk and rear seat area of his car was missing. He said he had just purchased the TV at Walmart for $649 and parked his car outside his house around 5 a.m. and found the rear passenger window smashed a round 7 a.m. There were no witnesses or suspects.

SHOPLIFTING

Loss prevention at the JC Penney store in Warwick Mall told police they watched a woman walking through the store on Dec. 3 as she selected merchandise like wallets, purses and other items and concealed them in her purse and a Kohl’s shopping bag. They said they stopped her outside and recovered a total of $634 worth of goods. Linda Rodas, 34, of 14 Whipple Ave., North Providence, was charged with shoplifting. Police also learned Rodas had prior arrests under the name of Alizia Marie Espino. She was later released on $1,000 surety bail.

Officer Quentin Tavares reported going to Kohl’s on Dec. 3 and catching a suspect who was attempting to leave the loss prevention office as he arrived. He said they subdued the woman and brought her back to the office. He said she claimed she had no identification, but when they searched her for stolen items they found a wallet with the license for Mary Ann Tipple. He said she denied she was Tipple and said her name was Hawkins and the license belonged to her niece. He said they left the license on the desk and saw it was gone when they looked for it. He said they looked all over for it and the suspect denied that she took it. When they got to headquarters a female officer searched the suspect and found the license in her bra. He said Tipple, 38, of 25 Manor St. in Pawcatuck, Conn., lied because she was on probation and had priors for shoplifting. She was charged with felony shoplifting and obstructing an officer.

DUI

Officer Aaron Kay reported clocking a car doing 57 miles per hour on Post Road around 10:40 p.m. on Nov. 18. He said he followed the vehicle as it veered across the double yellow lines and followed it onto Highland Avenue before it pulled over. He said the driver apologized and said he could not drive slow because the car had “mechanical issues.” He said the man smelled of alcohol and was given a field sobriety test that he failed. James P. Poirier, 22, of 338 Brookline Dr. in Warwick, was taken to headquarters, where he blew a .107 and a .123 blood alcohol content on the breath test. He was charged with DUI, speeding, laned roadway violation and no proof of insurance and later released to a sober adult.

Officer Nicholas Reay reported clocking a car at 45 miles per hour on Warwick Avenue around 11:50 p.m. on Nov. 29. He said he stopped the car at Ridgeway Avenue and asked the driver to take a field sobriety test. She took the test and failed and was taken to headquarters, where she blew a .125 blood alcohol content on both samples. Heather L. Gizzarelli, 22, of 60 Ridgeway Ave., was charged with DUI and traffic violations and then released to a sober adult.
