Questions I’d like answered:

Why do public employees accused of assorted indiscretions receive “suspensions with pay?” Isn’t that the same as getting a paid vacation at taxpayer expense? Shouldn’t pay be withheld pending final resolution, then back pay only paid out if warranted by the ultimate decision?

If “y’all” means many people, does “all y’all” mean an infinite number?

Why is it legal for people to sleep on the sidewalk outside businesses for days while waiting for Black Friday sales, but illegal for a homeless person to stop in one place, let alone sleep outside, for one night?

When five people died because of defective air bags, the government ordered several million cars recalled to fix the problem. Yet, despite the kids (and grown-ups) who have been shot, no action has been taken to fix the gun problem. Why not?

If an Afghan terrorist hired a gang of Saudi Arabians to destroy the World Trade Center, why did we invade Iraq?

When did Robert Cushman, the failed politician who cost the city so much in teacher contracts several years ago, become an expert on city budgets, whose opinion is worth an hour of Council time?

Why did a voter ID law get instituted to correct non-existent voting crimes, but nothing get done to stop campaign workers collecting ballots unsupervised?

As for voter ID, how did this Republican issue pass a Democrat-controlled state assembly?

Detroit is cash-strapped and their water department is owed millions of dollars by recipients who failed to pay for their consumption. Which of the two do you think has had their water turned off for non-payment?
