RI Democratic leaders dug `black hole' for RI

To the Editor:

I am outraged at the RI Congressional delegation, Reed, Whitehouse, Cicilline, Langevin, as well as Gina Raimondo and the rest of the RI Democratic leaders. I am outraged because they are not leaders, they are sheep. I am getting increasingly angry and frightened, as I watch the Trump nominees crawl into their respective cabinet positions. This will prove to be the most destructive administration ever, and we owe most of it to the above-mentioned Democrats.

They put us in this terrible position by backing a corporate shill who offered no relief for the middle class. Hillary’s entire campaign was based on trying to stir up fears of Trump, while offering not one idea of her own that voters could rally to. All pre-election polls indicated Sanders would have easily beaten Trump, but rather than back a winner who was offering reforms, our Congressional delegation, Raimondo and the rest of the sad crew immediately got on the bandwagon of a candidate who could not win.  Your dog would have gotten more votes than Trump!

They however, out of touch with reality, threw their blind support to the most hated presidential candidate in the history of the country. Like good soldiers, they were just doing as they were told and could not think for themselves, nor show leadership by supporting a winning candidate rather than a loser. So now we are facing a horrific group of cabinet members who are out to destroy unions, health care, public education, the environment, and who want to tear up a nuclear nonproliferation agreement with Iran.

This is horrible, yet not one of our “leaders” who got us into this mess has surfaced from their foxholes to stop this insanity. Their silence is complicity. They are responsible for the debacle, not the Russians or anyone else. Surely the top leaders of the Democratic party are to blame, but they are beyond my reach, so I start with the people in Rhode Island that I know. They, sheep they are, have fed us to the wolves, and I for one will never vote for any of them again; that is if we retain the right to vote under this administration. Shame on them, but more shame on you for voting for them. Take the pledge: Never again!

Let's face it- RI's political leaders have contributed to the Republican resurgence, but it is a National movement; however, the problem lies with the voters who keep putting the buffoons back in office in RI.

The mainstream media has only themselves to "blame" for Trump; over the last few years, they scandalized, marginalized or ignored the 16 other potential Republican candidates, believing that the dishonest and scandal-ridden Hillary Clinton might beat him- they underestimated the public's awareness of the "weight" of her baggage.

The riots and bad behavior following the election are not BECAUSE Trump won, it's WHY Trump won. The average American taxpayer/voter is fed up 8 years of failure, all the while being called racist, sexist, homophobic, greedy, rich, "bitter clingers", "angry white men", etc. for daring to voice a dissenting opinion, by a President who sat idly by and condoned civil disobedience and attacks on law enforcement through his silence and lack of action- the Community Organizer-in-Chief never strayed far from his roots and promises to remain a sideline kibbitzer/s**tstirrer in his retirement...how can we miss you when you won't go away?
