The R.I. Rays 11U AAU baseball club was invited to and won the USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) Baseball New England Super NIT, which took place from May 1-3, in North Branford, Conn. The team also won a bid to play in the USSSA Wilson DeMarini Elite World Series at ESPN’s Wide World Of Sports in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. in August. The tournament will feature the top 32 teams in the country.

Four Warwick natives have contributed to the team’s success this season – Kenny Rix, Aaron Narcavage, Domenic Brazeau and Chase Pariseau.

After being down 11-5 in the championship game, the Rays scored nine runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 14-11 lead over the Connecticut Braves to win the championship. The Rays played teams from Conn., Mass., N.Y. and N.J.

In the front row: Evan Dacey, Narcavage, Brazeau, Andrew Travieso, and Kaden Santurri. In the second row: Ruben Fernandez, Cameron Carr, Pariseau, Tyler DiNezza, Rix, Cole Carbone and Alex Marot.
