Raymond F. Black, 95, died Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was the husband of the late Mary J. (Iantosco) Black.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (MacDonald) Black, he resided in Warwick before moving to Edgewater, FL in 2008. Mr. Black was employed 38 years with the US Post Office, retiring in 1981. He was World War II Army veteran serving in the European, African, Middle Eastern Theaters and received the Purple Heart after being wounded in enemy action in Italy.

He was the beloved father of Raymond J. Black (Lynn) of Edgewater, FL and the late Michael F. Black; grandfather of Christopher, Kelly, Casey, Raymond, Michelle, Jessica and Elizabeth Black and Michael DiFusco. Also survived by ten great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Patrick Black, Esther Keyes and the late John Black.

His funeral will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Timothy Church, Warwick Ave. Burial with military honors in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
