Raymond L. Simmons, age 64, of Cove Avenue, Warwick, died on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at home. He was the husband of Linda A. (Mitchell) Simmons.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Eugene S. and Josephine S. (Jordan) Simmons, he was a life-long Warwick resident. Mr. Simmons was employed at Eton Corporation in Warwick for 37 years, retiring as a supervisor. He served as a volunteer at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. He loved boating.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Raymond L. Simmons, Jr., and a daughter, Tammy A. Gleavey, both of Warwick; four grandchildren, Patrick, Matthew, Katie, and Haley; a great-grandchild, Nicholas; two brothers, Robert Ricci and James Simmons, both of Warwick; a sister, Gail Moraga of Coventry; his mother-in-law, Catherine Mitchell of Warwick, and the Mitchell family. He was the brother of the late Joseph Simmons, Grace Bubar, Gloria Farrally, and Joanne D’Arezzo.

His funeral will be held on Monday, November 14, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
