Raymond V. Tata

Raymond V. Tata, 92, husband of the late Agnes (Duarte) Tata, passed away March 16, 2016.

He was the son of the late Onofrio and Agnes (Cormier) Tata. Born in Providence, he was a World War II Veteran. He graduated from Roger Williams Jr. College, Summa Cum Laude. As a mechanical engineer he led the R&D Dept. at Leesona Corp. and is credited with 38 patents.

He was the brother of Robert Tata and the late Rosemary Langevin, Donald Tata, Madeline Theroux and Lorraine Gagnon. He is survived by six children: Kenneth, James (Judith), Carolyn and Brian Tata, Mary Ann (James) Hatzberger and Eileen (James) Thompson; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at 9 a.m. from the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. William Church, 200 Pettaconsett Ave., Warwick. Visiting hours on Monday, March 21 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. Burial in Swan Point Cemetery.
