Registration announced for upcoming Apponaug Girls Softball fall season

Apponaug Girls Softball announces its 24th Fall Ball season registration. The fall season runs from Sept. 6 through Oct. 11, with doubleheaders on Saturdays, and game times of 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. There is usually is one practice during the week. The age groups are 8u, 10u, 12u and 13-18 years of age. Please visit agsoftball.com to create an account for registration.

The fall registration rate is $85 for a single player and a family rate of $135 for two or more players. Registration is free for girls who played in the spring 2014 season for the age 8 & under minor league or second year instructional players.

AGS is proud to offer three seasons, spring recreation, summer travel programs and fall ball recreation/ travel, as well as showcase teams, all developed to help young women enjoy the sport of softball and learn valuable sportsmanship and leadership skills.

AGS hosting Fall Charity Classic

 

Apponaug Girls Softball will hold its ninth annual Fall Charity Classic Tournament on Oct. 18th and Oct. 19th at Winslow Field in Warwick.

 

It is an open tournament for girl’s fast pitch softball teams, ages 18-and-under. This tournament is made possible with the help of the umpires and grounds crew, who waive their fees, and the support from teams, coaches, families and volunteers. AGS has raised over $45,000 to benefit Apponaug families and Warwick based charities. TG’s Jacobsen shines in throwing event

 

Toll Gate High School’s Courtney Jacobsen grabbed a first and second-place finish in the Sons of Italy Throwing Championships this weekend at Conley Stadium in Providence. Jacobsen won first place in the 3-kilo hammer throw and took second in the 4-kilo event. She beat out Classical standout Alva Hicks for her first-place finish, while taking second to Hicks in the 4-kilo division.
