Rhoderick R. Blue

Rhoderick R. Blue, 90, a resident of Warwick for 60 years, passed away Tuesday, April, 21, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Bissaillon) Blue for 70 years.

Born in Providence, a son of Rhoderick and Flora (Shuttleworth) Blue. Blue served in the Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Brough, a destroyer escort in the European and Asiatic Theaters, and in Korea as an instructor. He was employed as a technical sales rep. in the chemical industry working for several companies; and served as Vice President of Sales for C.L. Hauthaway & Sons until 1987, after which he did consulting work. He was a member of the AATCC Assoc. where he was recognized for outstanding service. He was also a member of the N.E. Textile Club, Masonic Vets, and Destroyer Escort Sailors Association.

Loving father of Ronald Blue and his wife, Aleta of Severna Park, Maryland, Richard Blue and his wife, Doreen of Flat Rock, North Carolina, Rhonda Sears and her late husband, Ronald of Newport, and Robin Robarge and her husband, Robert of Grafton, Massachusetts; he is also survived by his six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late John Blue.

His Funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Requiem Eucharist at 10 a.m. in St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Post Rd., Apponaug. Burial with military honors in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 p.m.
