Richard M. Spillane, 76, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Barbara F. (Balkus) Spillane.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Francis M. and Catherine E. (Coburn) Spillane, he has been a resident of Warwick since 1964. He taught English in Coventry High School for 30 years retiring 1992.
He was the beloved father of Suzanne M. Schwartz (Bobby), Christine A. Spillane, and Steven M. Spillane (Patricia); grandfather of Gregory Jaroma, Meaghan Spillane, and Joey Schwartz; brother of Sharon F. Scorpio.
His funeral will be held Saturday, November 21, at 8 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visitation Saturday morning 8-9:30 a.m.
