Rita E. (Armstrong) King, 83, of Warwick passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Brentwood Nursing Home surrounded by her family.

Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Walter Armstrong and Theresa (Mailloux) Schwarzkopf. Rita was a hostess at Bassett’s Inn for many years. She was also a volunteer at Kent Hospital.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jerry and Valerie Barlow of Coventry, Sandy and Wayne “Mike” Derby of Warwick, Marge and Wayne Pollard of Warwick, Dee and Jef Stone of Virginia and Jeff and Samantha Barlow of Nevada; her grandchildren, Kate and her husband, Bo Meckel, Kelly and her husband, Todd Searle, Emily Derby, Lindsey and her husband, Michael Nelson, Jonathan Barlow, Erin Stone, Ryan Stone, Duncan Barlow and Isabella Barlow; three great-grandchildren, Tristan Searle, Riley Searle and Luca Nelson; and two brothers, Robert Armstrong and his wife, Joyce of Warwick and Jack Schwarzkopf and his wife, Ronnie of Florida.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Service on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 3257 Post Road, Warwick. Burial will be private. Calling hours respectfully omitted.
