Rita T. (Healy) Jarvis, age 95, formerly of Montgomery Avenue, Providence, died on May 9, 2013 at West View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in West Warwick. She was the wife of the late Donald V. Jarvis.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Michael P. and Mary C. (Cotter) Healy, she lived in Providence for most of her life.
She is survived by two sons, Donald V. Jarvis, Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Englewood, Florida and Raymond K. Jarvis and his wife, Joyce of Warwick, a daughter-in-law, Deborah L. Jarvis of Warwick; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Mitchell W. Jarvis; the grandmother of the late Raymond K. Jarvis, Jr.; and the sister of the late Anastasia Shanley, Susan V. Healy, Loretta M. Leach, Catherine A. Healy, William Healy, Thomas Healy, and J. Joseph Healy.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 14, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Church, One St. Paul Place, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited, and may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8-9 a.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
