Robert P. Fugere, Sr.

Robert P. Fugere, Sr., 79, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Warwick, passed away into Heaven on May 14th at home with his family by his side.

Born on October 13, 1936, he was a son of the late Louis and Catherine (Nasso) Fugere. He was a Life Member of the Tri-City Elks #14, the Williams Shields American Legion Post #43, the Oakland Beach Volunteer Fire Company and a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans. Bob loved playing cards and working in his yard making it beautiful and with the best tomatoes. He also loved music with a passion for drums and played in a small band. He would listen to music from the time he woke up in the morning until after dinner. He would then play cribbage with many friends in Florida.

Bob was the beloved husband of Betsey (Lopez) for 55 years and the devoted father of daughter Robin Major and son Robert Jr. and his 11 year old buddy and constant companion, Kodi, who misses him. He was the brother of Gladys Kearns, Barbara Mitchell and the late Eileen Longo and Richard Fugere. He also left many nieces, nephews, in-laws and too many good friends to list.

His service and funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 29th at 11 am at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Exeter, RI. Please meet at the Administration building at the cemetery at 10:45 am.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name to Tidewater Hospice, 1144 Verona St., Port Charlotte, FL 33952 would be very much appreciated. They took such good care of Bob and our family.
