In last Thursday’s issue of the Beacon, School Committee Vice Chair Eugene  Nadeau, in regard to the Warwick

teachers “working to rule,” is quoted as saying that it “is causing the reputation of the school department to be adversely affected.”

Mr. Nadeau, the teachers can’t spoil a rotten egg.

    Dear Mr. Whittemore,

Well put! You have captured the sentiments of many taxpayers, myself included.

We have many issues with the School Dept. The Ragosta Report, a lack of Chromebooks, teachers working with NO contract, and a public image that is so poor that they hired a public relations firm to improve it. Their reputation is so awful that a high school student has formed a committee to help bridge the communication gap. I have met several times with the union leaders, members of the City Council, several teachers and Karen Bachus, the best representative of the School Committee. On thing they ALL agree on: We need greater transparency! $160,000,000 of the taxpayers money is being spent poorly and with no involvement of our elected officials. Our students test scores are way below average and instead of taking ANY responsibility at all, Mr. Nadeau read the riot act to teachers. We need to fix this and I have a plan to do it. Please call me at 401-338-9900. I would love to disguss it with you.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Mr. Nadeau should NOT be discussing the lack of a contract situation in public through the Warwick Beacon or any other media venue. Case Closed!

Bacchus is the best representative of the School Committee? Bacchus is a coward who chose to abstain from voting on whether or not to continue the ALAP program, which was ALAP's final nail in its coffin. I think you meant to say not that she is the best representative of the School Committee, but rather that she is the best example of the (dysfunctional) School Committee. In fact, the entire School Committee needs to be replaced with competent representatives who truly care about the students.
