Ruth H. (Brayton) Wait-Howes, 90, formerly of Warwick passed away on June 6, 2016 at Roberts Health Center. She was the wife of the late A. Dallas Wait, Jr. and the late Robert Howes.
Born in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Alden C. and Florence (Potter) Brayton. Mrs. Howes was an Educator of Public Health for the State of Rhode Island, retiring after 36 years of service. She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School and Framingham State Teachers College and received her Masters in Education from U.R.I. She was a member of Warwick Central Baptist Church. She was active in the Alumnae Associations of Framingham State Teachers College and U.R.I.
She was the beloved mother of A. Dallas Wait, III, husband of the late Kathy, of Princeton, MA, Susan W. Scott and her husband, Joseph of Exeter, Stephen M. Wait, husband of the late Liz, of Canada and Elizabeth P. “Beth” Wait of Warwick. Loving grandmother of Brian J. Scott and his wife, Audrey and Heather (Scott) Almagno. Cherished great-grandmother of Ashley, Kelsey and Grace Scott. Caring sister of Gardner P. Brayton of Dartmouth, MA and the late Beatrice (Brayton) Gallup.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 9:30-10:00 am in Warwick Central Baptist Church, 3257 Post Road, Warwick followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Burial in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport, MA.
