When Warwick Area Career and Technical Center students learned one of their own was living in a trailer after his family was burned out of their house in Warwick, they took action. The Skills USA leadership team held a black t-shirt day asking students to give whatever they could to the cause. They raised $525 that was presented to Christina Chaplin last Thursday. Chaplin, whose son Jordan is a student in the culinary program, estimates the family could be living in the trailer for a year as the home is rebuilt. A Go Fund Me page has also been set up to help the family. It can be accessed at www.gofundme.com/2x4m5fw. Here, Chaplin with her son at her left is joined by Skills USA leaders (from left) Emily McAteer, Michael Robillard, Madison LaPlante, William Martino, Micah Robertson, Alison Russo and Madison Jackson.
