Dignitaries are in for a treat this morning when they gather at 11 a.m. at the Rocky Point arch for the announcement that the Rocky Point Foundation has been awarded a Rhode Island Foundation Centennial Community grant. The $5,620 grant will be used to buy paint so the city can repaint the arch. As a souvenir of the occasion, Hoxsie School fourth, fifth and six graders, under the direction of art teacher Kim Markarian, decorated paint brushes with a Rocky Point theme. Here, Julia Bock works on her creation. Madison Wrench displays her brush with waves as Jillian Casey and Aleah Dickerson work on theirs. Seassia Kong holds up her brush. (Warwick Beacon photos)
