Seat belt campaign clicks with Warwick Police

The Warwick Police Department joined local and national law enforcement officers and highway safety advocates all across the country during the most recent national Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement campaign, which ran from Nov. 18 through 25.

The goal was to keep everyone safe on our roadways and to prevent the senseless injuries and deaths because someone did not wear their seat belt.

Over the course of the week, Warwick Police issued 164 seat belt or child seat violations, arrested 12 motorists for operating on suspended licenses, arrested eight motorists for operating under the influence, and made several other unrelated arrests.

The Warwick Police Department believes that the use of seat belts helps to save lives and motorists need to remember to Click It or Ticket. The fine for not wearing one is $75.
