To the Editor:

I was notified this morning by a neighbor that he had been told the drake swan was dead and seen at the Lakeshore end of the pond.
You have heard me comment many times about the family of swans that call Warwick Pond home. We named them after the movie “When Harry Met Sally.” You have heard me say that the signets were being born with abnormalities and hardly any of them survive. This year, there was only one born. We do not know how Harry died and we can all form our own opinions. I have formed mine.
At the Public Hearing at DEM 235 Promenade St., Providence, Room 300 on Monday, May 14 at 6 p.m., we must let our voices be heard by our numbers that will send the message that pollution discharges to Warwick Pond and Buckeye Brook will no longer be acceptable. Please, please, please, be there.
Protect and preserve.
