Small business shopping event is Saturday at Crowne

Connecting small businesses with new customers is the idea behind Small Business Saturday, and this year dozens of local small businesses will connect with hundreds of patrons in one place in Rhode Island, at the first annual Mind-Body-Spirit Experience being held at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick on Nov. 29.

Small Business Saturday was founded in 2010 by American Express and, four years later, shoppers across the nation continue to rally in support of small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Each year, shoppers spend billions to support local economies on Small Business Saturday by keeping retail dollars in local communities. Here in the Ocean State, The Mind-Body-Spirit Experience will host more than 90 small businesses from the Rhode Island-area offering a great opportunity for small business and shoppers alike.

“As the cornerstone of our economy, we want small business to do well, and we are thrilled to be provide a one-stop shopping venue for many of our local retailers offering products aimed at wholeness and well-being,” Pat Paolino Cruz, founder and producer of the Mind-Body-Spirit Experience said in a statement.

“By bringing more than 90 retailers under one roof for one day, this event is an incredible opportunity for local businesses to connect with new customers, promote products and services for holiday sales, gift buying, gift certificate purchases and New Years’ resolution bookings. It’s all part of helping to create mind, body and spiritual balance in our lives.”

Small Business Saturday also comes at a time when end of year marketing budgets are thin, and this is a cost-effective way for small businesses to increase visibility economically while meeting face-to-face with potential customers, creating a push in our local economy. The event provides an opportunity to showcase local businesses and products in a way that takes advantage of all senses, and consumers can see, taste, hear and touch and feel products and services available.

Early registration offers ticket discounts online ($15) for a limited time, or tickets may be purchased at the door for $20. Parking is free with easy access off Interstate 95, and ticket purchase includes presentations, seminars by local professionals and live entertainment.
