Smokey Bones announces annual Burger Battle during National Burger Month

May is National Burger Month, a time to celebrate an American food favorite. Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill is using the month to announce its 3rd Annual Burger Battle. This year’s event will be held on June 19 at Smokey Bones restaurants in more than 30 markets across the country to raise funds for local charities. The battle is a timed relay eating contest, with the team consuming the specialty burgers the fastest taking the top honors. Two teams of six will compete for a chance to be crowned Burger Battle Champion of the city. The team with the fastest time in each market will compete to become National Burger Battle Champion.

Also during National Burger Month in May, Smokey Bones will feature three unique limited-time signature burgers. They include the Chicken Parmesan Burger, created with crisp herb-marinated chicken, the Beef and Bacon Burger made with half beef and half smoked applewood bacon, and the San Jose Burger, a fire-grilled burger topped with fresh guacamole and other cool California style ingredients. And throughout the month of June, for any limited time burger ordered, Smokey Bones will contribute $1 to the charities of the two competing teams in each market.

Roger Drake, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill, is excited about the upcoming Burger Battle. “It’s a win-win event,” said Drake. “Not only do participants get to enjoy great tasting burgers, they also are giving back to their communities by raising funds for their local charities. What could be better than that?”

Amstel Light is partnering with Smokey Bones to help support the Burger Battle with a pre-event tailgate parties. The tailgate parties start at 7 p.m. on June 19 and enable guests the opportunity to taste different signature burgers from Smokey Bones, including one made with a special Amstel Light sauce.
