A concert of classical Spanish guitar, flamenco, Latin tunes and original songs by New York City guitar duo Lisa y Josué will be held at the Warwick Public Library Sunday, February 21, at 2 p.m.Come for an exquisite and crackling performance by two musicians skilled in Guitarrazón or “the way of the guitar.” Hear songs from Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Cape Verde. Plus, prepare for a show-stopping finale when Lisa dances flamenco in full costume, including castanets, fan, and shawl. A graduate of Brown University and NYU, Lisa Sparagen is a teaching artist with Carnegie Hall’s LinkUp! program, the NYC Parks Department, and Queens and New York Public Libraries. Born in Puerto Rico, Josué Pérez studied with Brazilian composer/guitarist Silas Antonio Santo and composed the score for Manhattan Theater Club’s premiere of Sam Shepard’s “Eyes for Consuela.”Register online at warwicklibrary.org or call 739-5440, x4.
