To the Editor:
Turn on the television and watch the tragic news stemming from mental illness. This is happening everywhere and actions need to be taken.
One person falling through the cracks can be a big problem.
That’s why NAMI-RI ask for every person reading this article to show their support and attend our fundraiser this Saturday evening, April 19 at the Rosario Society in Providence. This will be a test to our elected officials and candidates, who have all been invited by mail.
They can have their chance to attend and show their support. We hope they can be a part of helping their constituents in Rhode Island.
The facts remain one in four people around you are suffering with mental illness and without NAMI-RI, schools will not be educated, families will get less help and support groups be lost throughout Rhode Island. Hope to see you at the fundraiser.
Louis J. Spremulli
NAMI-RI Board

Advocacy Chairman
