T.F. Green Airport ready for Holiday Travel

The days before Thanksgiving kick off the busiest time of year to travel. Anticipating the increased holiday traffic, the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) has prepared for increased passenger levels at T.F. Green Airport through Sunday, November 27. To ease the stress of a busy travel season, the PVD Pups will greet travelers in the terminal, and rocking chairs have been added to Gates 2 and 11. For those waiting in the airport to pick up a passenger, there is a Little Free Library on the arrivals level where you may borrow a book.

Passengers are reminded to allow extra time to navigate from the parking areas to ticketing through the security checkpoint; remove your coats and belts before the checkpoint to expedite the security screening process; and store any metal accessories in your carry-on until passing through the checkpoint.

When planning your transportation to the airport, check out the discount coupons for on-airport parking, found at www.parkpvdairport.com, or consider using the InterLink, with its 20 daily (weekday) commuter trains between southern Rhode Island, the airport, Providence, Boston and points in between. Visit www.mbta.com for a service schedule. If friends or family are picking you up, the Cell Phone Lot, adjacent to the airport at 2282 Post Road, is the best place to wait in order to avoid circulating or standing outside the arrivals doors.
