‘Tell Israel to pound sand’

To the Editor:

Mr. Mort Zuckerman of the Mclaughlin Group commented that “there was no light between Hillary Clinton and Israel.” Similarly, Governor Jeb Bush at the CPAC Conference commented that “there should be no light between Israel and the USA” and all the other Republican candidates could not contain themselves in their enthusiastic support for Israel. If these candidates meant by invoking the name Israel that nation, which is referred to in the New Testament as the Israel of God (Gal 6:16), which consists of the regenerated race of men called Christians, there would be no issue.

The trouble is that these candidates are referring instead to that Zionist nation that has beguiled the Christian since 1948 and which is a pretender to the inheritance that has been given to the Christian believer. We have her back 100 percent even when it comes to issues of war and peace. Israel is a foreign country with her own interests to protect and those interests do not necessarily coincide with our own and we are not wed to her, nor is she the 51st state. To make matters worse, the President of Israel is addressed the U.S. Congress to urge the USA to go to war against Israel’s enemy, Iran. President Obama must stiffen his backbone and resist these overtures to war and become the first President since Eisenhower to tell Israel to pound sand. Our men, women and treasury are not to be disposed at the discretion of a foreign nation and when our politicians do so, it becomes treasonous.
