“A Time to Kill” was a good thriller, taken from the John Grisham novel and starring Matthew McConaughey and Samuel L. Jackson. Gwyneth Paltrow starred in Jane Austen’s “Emma.” Kevin Costner starred in “Tin Cup,” a classic golf comedy.
