Time is precious and art teacher Kim Markarian, who teaches classes at Hoxsie and Norwood Schools, packs as much as she can into each 45-minute class kids get weekly. She is fortunate to have recruited several helpers who use their recesses to assist her with setting up the next class. Also, through her efforts, Hoxsie School won a grant for a kiln at the school that will eliminate the need to transport clay works to other schools for firing. Markarian has worked in other school systems and marvels at the resources devoted to the arts in Warwick. She said cabinets are filled with supplies and materials that give students a rich introduction to fine arts.
