The joy of being a Roman Catholic

To the Editor:

My letter is inspired by Ms. Botelho’s story about her brother. I enjoyed her article about God and faith with our young people today.

To be a Catholic today, if one prays, trusts, believes and obeys, is a definite assurance of being able to attain eternal life in Heaven. Jesus told Peter, “You are Peter. I will give you the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven.”

To be a Roman Catholic today means to belong to the only church founded by Christ, and it will endure for all time! Jesus said to Peter, “You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church. The gates of Hell shall not prevail against it!”

To be a Catholic means to have the consolations, love, strength, trust and peace provided by God’s Holy Sacraments.

To be a Roman Catholic is my greatest #1 gift from God, and will always be my greatest #1 joy!
