Elementary school art teacher Kim Markarian wrapped a lesson in master artists, research, public speaking and even a bit of performance with this year’s art fashion show at Hoxsie School. Held last Monday before the entire student body and their parents, sixth graders spoke about the artists they researched and the painting they had replicated on a t-shirt before walking the “runway.” Students were given a wide selection of artists to choose from. To prevent a plethora of Starry Nights by Vincent VanGogh they were limited to one particular painting per classroom.
