The Gabrielle Dinsmore Heart & Hope Fund will host the third annual spring fundraiser, A Fair of the Heart on Thursday, May 8 at the Alpine Country Club (251 Pippin Orchard Rd.) in Cranston from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

This year, the event’s theme is celebrating mothers and other special women in your life. The fair is a vendor show featuring 30 different vendors. This year’s vendors are 31 Gifts, 360 Face Mind Body, Beauty Counter, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Carrie Humphreys/Personal Stylist, Couture Cuties, Extravaganza Kids/Giggleroo, Fabulocity, Herbalife, In A Pickle, It Words, Jerilyn Sewing School, Karma Couture, Miche Bags, Origami Owl, Pampered Chef, Personal Pilates, Premier Designs, Prima Donna Costume Jewelry & Accessories, Rinnovo Salon, Rita’s Fashions & Accessories, Salon X, Tastefully Simple, The Cookie Tray, The Savory Grape Wine Shop, Tupperware, Ultimate Upholstery RI, White House Black Market and Women Wine Making.

Tickets are $30 per person, and can be purchased by calling 270-5791 or online at www.heartandhopefund.com. The event will feature live and silent auctions, and a 50/50 raffle.

Proceeds will benefit the Gabrielle Dinsmore Heart & Hope Fund, which provides financial assistance grants to families in need and funds Gabrielle’s Heart Camp, the region’s only camp for kids with congenital heart defects and heart disease. The Fund hopes to become a recognized resource for educational, emotional, recreational and financial support for Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts children and families impacted by congenital heart defects, heart disease and severe feeding issues.

The fund is named in honor of Gabrielle Dinsmore, who was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect shortly after she was born on April 26, 2007. She had three open-heart surgeries before she was 2. Due to complications from heart disease, she passed away on March 30, 2010. This year’s event falls close to what would have been Gabrielle’s 7th birthday.
