Thomas W. Bonn, Chief WFD (Ret), 96, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Kim Bonn. He was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis M. (Downs) Bonn.

He was a son of the late Walter and Nellie (Hudson) Bonn. A member of the Warwick Fire Department for 35 years, he served as Chief from 1975 to 1982. Chief Bonn was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the Wm. Shields American Legion Post #43, Oakland Beach Volunteer Fire Co., and the Tri-State Lodge of Elks.

He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Davis, Sandra Mulcahey, Cyndy Bonn and her husband, Al Perry; one son, Joseph Bonn and his wife, Kim; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Thomas and Charles Bonn and brother of the late Walter, James, Charles, Francis, John and Douglas Bonn. He is also survived by his caregiver, Jennifer Witherspoon.

His funeral will be held Saturday, July 11, at 8:45 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Ave. at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m.
