The Toll Gate girls’ indoor track team captured the Medium School Class Championship this past weekend, earning 88.5 points, eight and a half points better than second-place Hope.

The Titans dominated the weight events, as Courtney Jacobsen won the weight throw and Ani Armenakyan placed first in the shot put.

Standout Erika Pena also won the 55-meter hurdles for Toll Gate, finishing the event in a time of 8.81 seconds.

The final event that Toll Gate won was the 4x800 relay, as the team of Jessica Cawley, Morgan Dugan, Nora Hall and Jennifer Lavallee crossed the finish line with a time of 10:14.50.

The win came after the Titans won the Headley Division in the dual meet season with a perfect 8-0 record.

Pilgrim placed fourth at the Medium Schools Class Championships, as Melanie Brunelle took first place for the Pats in the high jump and the long jump.

Hawks win Class A title

The Bishop Hendricken indoor track team claimed the Class A title this weekend with an overall score of 104.5.

Ben Murphy finished first in the high jump, as the UMass-Amherst bound senior put together a six-foot, three-inch jump.

That was the only first-place finish for the Hawks, but they had several other high finishes.

Shane Olsen placed third in the weight throw, Tom McMahon second in the 3000, Jared Boulanger second in the 600 and second in the 4x800.

The Hawks will now gear up for the state championships, which will take place on Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Providence Career and Technical Academy.
