To the Editor:

This is a follow-up to Matt Bower’s fine Beacon article (2/13/14) covering the 114 early senior project presentations in our three high schools (2/10/14).

I was extremely pleased to have participated in judging four of the 54 seniors at Pilgrim High School that night. The results exceeded expectations, just as the others were at the Veterans Memorial and Toll Gate high schools. We look forward to judging the other senior projects in May.

The hundreds of unselfish mentors are to be praised for their valuable assistance, given so freely, to our deserving students. Tribute must be paid to their impressive and unwavering dedication.

Finally, I would be remiss in not acknowledging my gratitude to both Representative Joseph McNamara and Senator Michael McCaffrey for their untiring and successful legislative efforts in assisting my determination to restore the mentor program in Warwick.
