Warwick North 11’s take state crown

The Warwick North 11-year-old baseball team recently accomplished a feat that has not occurred in 30 years.

The boys won the Rhode Island District 3 championship and the Rhode Island state championship.

This was a first for Warwick North Little League, as it’s in its inaugural year. This past fall, Warwick West Side and Warwick National merged to form Warwick North. The last time either league won a state title was back in 1985, with Warwick West Side winning the 12-year-old title.

The Warwick North 11’s baseball team won the district title convincingly, by beating all of their opponents by the 10-run mercy rule.

The district title enabled the team to compete for the state championship, which it dominated as well.

The team won its first two games by the 10-run mercy rule before defeating Burrillville, 9-4, for the state championship.

The championship team members are: #1 Aaron Narcavage, #2 Chase Pariseau, #3 Sean Gallagher, #5 Kenny Rix, #7 D.J. Sollitto, #12 Domenic Brazeau, #13 Gary Dombeck, #14 Colin Lemieux, #15 Dylan Bourret, #17 Brendan McCaffrey, #22 Max Turner, #27 Cullen McGrew and #66 Thane Denton.
