Warwick Police search for bank robbery suspect

The Warwick Police Department is asking for the community's assistance identifying a suspect after the Bank of America branch on West Shore Road was robbed.

According to Lieutenant Snow, around 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, a younger, white male entered the bank and demanded money from a teller.

"Basically what I have right now, I have not gotten a picture yet, was a white male, younger, 5’8” to 5’9” tall, wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt with “BOSTON STRONG” on the front. He had black sunglasses on, and jeans and sneakers,” said Lieutenant Snow by phone. “He stated that he had a firearm but none was shown, and he fled on foot and at this time we’re not sure how much money was taken.”

Police are currently gathering additional information and hope to have a photo of the suspect available Thursday morning.

No one was physically harmed during the incident.

Those with information that may be helpful in identifying a suspect are asked to call the Warwick Police Department at 401-468-4200.
