Warwick Rotary seeks grant applications for community projects

Posted

In its continuing support of community, the Rotary Club of Warwick is soliciting grant applications from area non-profits.

In the 63 years since it was founded, the service club has given more than $640,000 to support local charities, scholarships and community causes. Among the largest benefactors of the club’s fundraising efforts have been the Warwick Boys and Girls Clubs and Kent Hospital.

Grant applications are to be submitted by Nov. 15. An announcement of recipients will be made on Nov. 30.

Applying organizations should be tax-exempt under IRC 501(c)(3). Although the club has assisted many causes, for the purposes of these awards individuals, school clubs or sports teams should not apply. Also, the club does not support general fundraising campaigns for operations costs or travel expenses.

Warwick Rotary is interested in supporting targeted projects that deal with health, hunger, poverty, problems of the elderly, children, domestic abuse, education and literacy, disabilities, town beautification, and ecology.

Each application requires a description of the organization and its project, a statement of goals and objectives of the project, intended outcome, the total amount needed and the amount requested from Warwick Rotary.

Applications and additional information are available from the club’s website: www.clubrunner.ca/warwick. Completed applications should be mailed to: Warwick Rotary Club, Attn: Donna Caccia, PO Box 6803, Warwick, RI 02886.
