You’ll be proclaiming “They don’t make movies like that anymore!” when you sit back for six wildly entertaining comedies on the big screen at Warwick Public Library on Saturdays, Jan. 24 and 31 and Feb. 7, 14 and 21 at 2 p.m.

On Jan. 24, watch fast-talking newspaper reporter Torchy Blane in “Blondes at Work” (1938), starring Glenda Farrell and Barton MacLane. Even after police lieutenant Steve McBride stops giving tips to Torchy, she continues to out-scoop her rivals.

On Jan. 31, enjoy “Tarzan’s New York Adventure” (1942), starring Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O’Sullivan. When Tarzan’s son Boy is kidnapped by a circus, he and Jane head to the big city to get him back.

On Feb. 7, see the Bowery Boys in “Live Wires” (1946), starring Leo Gorcey and Huntz Hall. Finding respectable jobs with the District Attorney, Slip and Sach are picked to serve a subpoena to a homicidal gangster.

On Feb. 14, watch “Francis Goes to the Races” (1951), starring Donald O’Connor, Piper Laurie, and Chill Wills. Francis the Talking Mule and his human pal Peter help a racehorse suffering from low self-esteem.

On Feb. 21, enjoy “Ma and Pa Kettle at Home” (1954), starring Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride. Ma and Pa conspire to impress a snobby judge who will decide if their eldest son Elwin wins a scholarship.
