Warwick's DePetrillo takes field with Revolution

Warwick resident Madison DiPetrillo won a dream opportunity this past Sunday, as she was chosen to attend a soccer clinic with players form the New England Revolution.

DePetrillo was awarded a spot in the clinic due to academic achievement, and she took part in various soccer skills, drills and scrimmages with the professional athletes.

This exclusive clinic was the grand-prize of Santander Bank, N.A. and the New England Revolution’s back-to-school “Soccer Scholars” sweepstakes, which took place between August 28 and September 19, 2014. Parents were invited to submit 100 words or less highlighting their child’s finest academic accomplishments from the 2013 school year. With every submission, each parent was entered for a chance to win a randomly selected spot for his or her child for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play with the pros at Gillette Stadium.

The clinic took place at the Revolution’s indoor practice facility and included players Darrius Barnes, Scott Caldwell, Brad Knighton and Donnie Smith, along with Revolution Academy coaches. There were more than 70 area youth there for the clinic.
