Wave outpouring

For 50 local veterans and families, the holidays got a nice boost this year courtesy of the hard-working staff and members of Wave Federal Credit Union. Working with West Bay Community Action and RI Veterans, Wave raised and delivered donations of 3 gifts to each of 50 grateful recipients. Gifts were about $25 each and ranged from toys, clothing and bedding to dishes, cookware and bathroom items.

“We are a community Credit Union, with an emphasis on community,” says Wave CEO Paul Archambault. “Many of these members of our community have sacrificed so much for all of us. We feel very fortunate to be able to give something back to them and help make their holidays brighter.”

Recently, Wave Federal Credit Union was named the top fundraising Credit Union in Rhode Island for 2015- 2016 by the trade association representing credit unions in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Delaware. Wave raised over 40 percent more than the next closest Rhode Island credit union. Wave was also instrumental in putting together the Rhode Island Charity Golf Tournament this year, which raised a record-breaking $90,000 for the Rhode Island Special Olympics.
