Wendy’s restaurants in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island recently raised $90,000 for Adoption Rhode Island.

A ceremonial presentation of an oversized check replica took place prior to the Pawtucket Red Sox Game on Aug. 23.

The donation was the result of Wendy’s Coupon Book initiative, during which customers could purchase a coupon book for $1 and receive four Free Jr. Frosty coupons and four Free Value size Fry coupons. The net proceeds from the coupon book sales were donated to Adoption Rhode Island that will use the money to continue helping children in state care waiting for families.

Wendy’s continued commitment to Adoption Rhode Island and to children in foster care in general has not only significantly increased awareness in the community, but has also directly impacted the children and families according to Darlene Allen, Executive Director of Adoption Rhode Island.

Adoption Rhode Island works every day to find families for kids in our community and provides the support they and their families need to flourish. Adoption Rhode Island is a private non-profit organization dedicated to finding families for children in state care and providing support services for those children and families throughout the process.
