William K. Anderson

William K. Anderson, age 83, of Pilgrim Drive, Warwick, died on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at home. He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Murray) Anderson and the late Shirley L. (Berg) Anderson.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Axel W. and Anna M. (McAdams) Anderson, he lived in Warwick for most of his life. He was a 1948 graduate of Cranston High School, and a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Anderson received a heart transplant at Brigham & Womens Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts in April 1993. Mr. Anderson was employed at Universal Winding Company, which later became Leesona Corporation, from 1948 to 1986. From 1986 to 1991 he worked at American Universal Insurance Company.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan L. Sylvia of Warwick and Maureen K. Whelchel of Solomon, Kansas; a son, Karl W. Anderson; a sister, Dolores Bartoszewicz of Warwick; a brother, Donald Anderson of Green Valley, Arizona; seven grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. He was the father of the late Kevin P. Anderson.

His funeral was held on Thursday, September 25, at 10 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Burial with military honors was in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
