Women’s club seeks scholarship applicants

Posted

The Greenwich Bay Women’s Club, a community service organization, is now accepting applications from residents in the East Greenwich, Warwick and North Kingstown areas for its annual scholarship award.

Priority will be given to applicants from those communities who have been involved in community service and who desire to attend or return to an accredited institution to continue their education. The number of scholarships and amounts vary each year; the funding comes from two major fundraisers. In recent years the club has awarded scholarships, ranging from $500 to $1,000, to high school graduating seniors and even a returning college student. Awarding of the scholarship is based on community service; grades are not a consideration.

The deadline for applying for this scholarship is April 1. This is a one-time award and previous recipients are ineligible for consideration. However, previous applicants may resubmit an application. To obtain an application, email Mary Ann Heran at heran@ripin.org. The club website is wwwgbwc.org.
