To the Editor:
This week the strength of our community was again on display, this time when the Greenwood School PTO organized a cleanup around the elementary school grounds. Dozens of volunteers made up of students, parents, grandparents, and other members of the Greenwood community, gave their time to bag leaves, pull weeds, and beautify the landscape to create a welcoming environment for our students returning to school.
While outside working, we saw a number of teachers entering the building to prepare their classrooms for the first day of school. These teachers were volunteering on one of their last days of summer vacation (which happened to be a perfect beach day!) to ensure their classrooms are ready for students on September 5.
I wanted to extend my gratitude to all those who came out to help get Greenwood School ready and to all those who volunteer in various capacities to make Warwick the close-knit community it is today. Have a great school year!
