To the Editor:
Candidate for governor Matt Brown has a plan that should turn the head of every person who cares about the environment and climate change. By 2035, Matt’s renewable energy plan will build twice as much wind, solar and hydropower as Rhode Island needs and sell the extra energy to the states around us. It will create 11,000 green jobs, keep the $3.6 billion that we spend every year on fossil fuels in Rhode Island, and give Rhode Islanders an annual dividend check from the energy profits. But most importantly, it will slow down climate change because we won’t be using fossil fuels to power our state. Hothouse summers and extreme snow and rain are just beginning, and we need bold plans to keep them from overwhelming us. Matt’s renewable energy plan is strong and the type of action we need to save our climate.

More of a pie in the sky dream Wil than a plan. How is it going to happen? How about some details? Gee, we would all like to power everything with solar and wind but how is Matt Brown going to accomplish what the industry has not thus far? We will be no where near 50% renewable energy by 2035 without massive technological breakthroughs.

We have a 9.4 billion dollar budget for 1 million people. Our spending is ridiculous. The last thing Rhode Island needs is a tax increasing, business hating job killing Governor. And Chaffee has predicted he'll be our next Governor, so he's gotta be horrible.
