Alice E. “Nina” (Morris) Tantimonico, age 90, formerly of Warwick, died peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Saint Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich, surrounded by her four children. Nina was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, George "Poppy" Tantimonico.

Born in Wellesley, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late John F. and Margaret (Saulnier) Morris, she lived in Warwick for 58 years. Alice was employed as a nurse’s aide in home healthcare. She will be remembered most for her unconditional love of her family and friends, her dedication in caring for others, and her faith. Known affectionately as Nina to her grandchildren, and later by all who knew her, she was an endearing woman with a warm heart that she shared with everyone. Nina welcomed everyone into her home with loving hugs and kisses, always grateful for time spent with others. In addition to being a homemaker and life-long caregiver, Nina had many hobbies including gardening, cooking, baking, canning, knitting, traveling, and bird watching. She loved spending time outdoors, especially building snowmen with her grandchildren. Nina's kitchen was always open, as she loved to prepare meals for friends and family. There was always room at the table or a hot cup of tea ready for guests. Her recipes have been cherished, especially her Christmas cookies and rice pie and will be passed on for generations. Many will remember the pool parties, endless Marco Polo games, and backyard cookouts. She had a tender heart and enjoyed caring for her loved ones anytime of day or night. Whether it was her homemade soup or making sure the pillows were fluffed, Nina had a special way to help anyone feel better. Nina touched the lives of so many people and although she has passed, her memory will remain in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters, John S. Cook of Cranston, Nancy A. Musso of East Greenwich, Tina M. Razza of Warwick, and George Tantimonico, Jr. of Warwick; nine grandchildren: Michelle Pellegrino, Erin Manchester, Ryan Manchester, Maribeth Zoglio, Andrew Razza, Caitlin Musso, Kyle Musso, Phillip Tantimonico, and Kendra Tantimonico; and a great-granddaughter, Rachel Pellegrino. She was the sister of the late Charles Morris, Winifred Gagnon, Fred, Joseph, George, and Robert Morris.

The family gives the staff, residents (and families) at Saint Elizabeth Home their greatest gratitude for affording Nina the opportunity to thrive in such a nurturing environment, bringing her great joy and comfort, especially in her later years.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 5, at 10:45 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be private.
