Andrew S. Mayer, 48, from Warwick, Rhode Island made his home in Shapleigh, Maine which he loved, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at home.

He is the son of Henry Mayer and the late Joyce McMahon. Stepson of the late Raymond McMahon, and Stepson of Carol Mayer. Andy was a graduate of Toll Gate High School 1986 in Warwick. Kind-hearted, Andy enjoyed hiking and camping, as well as riding dirt bikes, ATV’s, and snowmobiles with his son through the woods of Maine. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time with family, friends and his dogs. He was a gifted artist and enjoyed preparing favorite family recipes from past generations.

He is survived by his beloved son, Joseph A. Mayer of Sweden, Maine from his marriage to Dorene Riccobono years earlier, and he was the companion of Crystal Thurston. Andy is also survived by his siblings, a brother, Christopher Mayer and fiancé JoAnn McGuire of Warwick, R. I., his sister, Kimberly Oliva and her husband Donald of Warwick, R.I., and brother Gregory Mayer also of Warwick. He is also survived by loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Beloved grandson of the late Luco and Frances Petracca of Providence, Rhode Island, and the late George and Mary Jane “Jennie” Mayer of Warwick, Rhode Island. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 9:00 a.m., at St. Rita’s Church, 722 Oakland Beach Avenue, Warwick, R.I.
