The Ararat Association of Rhode Island will host its 31st Annual Armenian Invitational Golf Tournament at the Quidnessett Country Club on Monday, August 27 with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. sharp. More than 128 golfers are expected to participate in the day’s activities. The $195 entry fee includes a luncheon buffet, 18 holes of golf, cocktail hour with Armenian appetizers, dinner and prizes. Various sponsorships and prizes are donated by both individuals and companies, and all proceeds are distributed to various, local and regional Armenian organizations and charities.

The tournament has become the highlight of the summer season for many of its participants as they annually look forward to a friendly round of golf, camaraderie, homemade Armenian appetizers and the traditional shish-kebab dinner. The generosity of all parties concerned has greatly contributed to the financial success of this annual tournament. Over the past 23 years, this event has raised over $400,000 in net proceeds, all of which have been donated to the Rhode Island Armenian community.

“The purpose of our annual golf tournament is to promote sportsmanship and fellowship among the Armenian community,” said Alan Zartarian, Tournament Coordinator.

Tournament tickets, golf tee signage and proprietary sponsorships, although limited, are still available. For further information contact Alan Zartarian at 921-2425.
