Save The Bay’s annual Artists for The Bay Show & Sale Opening Reception will be held Thursday, Nov. 29 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bay Center in Providence. Creative works by more than 60 local artists, sculptors and jewelers will be on display and for sale. Guests will discover a variety of artwork, ranging from elegant seascapes to handcrafted jewelry. All participating artists are generously donating 50 percent of their sales to support Save The Bay’s advocacy, education and restoration work.

"I feel privileged to show and sell my artwork at the annual Artists for The Bay Show & Sale," said local painter Elinor Thompson. "I love the appreciative audience and feel great that a percentage of the proceeds goes to this organization that positively impacts the quality of life for all Rhode Islanders and those visiting our state."

"The Artists for The Bay Show & Sale offers guests a rare opportunity to explore beautiful artwork, kick off the holiday season by purchasing gifts for loved ones, and support an organization they believe in," says Leanne Danielsen, Save The Bay events manager. "The Opening Reception itself is made even more special by the local restaurants and businesses that support the event with food, drink and music."

Tickets to the Opening Reception include an evening of live music with local food and beverages, provided by Fire Works Catering; Ragged Island Brewing, Co.; Gooseneck Vineyards; the Granny Squibb Company; KEEL Vodka; GG’s Pretzels; and Tapped Apple Winery. Tickets ($40) can be purchased online at savebay.org/art or at the door.

Artists for The Bay Show & Sale is generously sponsored by Sophia Shibles Interiors, Starkweather & Shepley, Providence Picture Frame & Dryden Gallery, Sunflower Designs, BayCoast Bank, Falvey Insurance Group, MetLife and Strategic Retirement Partners.

"We are thrilled to once again sponsor Save The Bay’s Artists for the Bay Show & Sale," said Mary Farrell of Sophia Shibles Interiors. "This event showcases two of Rhode Island’s most important assets: Narragansett Bay and our thriving community of artists and artisans. We invite our clients and vendors to share a drink and a bite with us, get behind this great cause and do a little holiday shopping all at one time."

The Artists for The Bay Show & Sale runs into January 2019, with a Closing Reception on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. Community members are invited to the Bay Center located at 100 Save The Bay Drive, Providence, to browse and purchase artwork during regular business hours (Mon.-Fri., 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) between Dec. 3 and Jan. 26.
